Jose Feliciano wishes Weston seniors a Feliz Navidad

Jose Feliciano wishes Weston seniors a Feliz Navidad

Weston resident and nine-time Grammy award winner Jose Feliciano brought some holiday cheer to the Weston Senior Center on Thursday, Dec. 17.
Accompanied by local musician Suzanne Sheridan and longtime collaborator Bill Rother, Feliciano performed an hour-long set of Christmas songs and fan favorites to a room of about 70 Weston seniors and their guests.
A virtuoso guitarist, singer and composer, Feliciano consistently tours the world, appearing at major concert venues.
For his contributions to the Weston community, Feliciano was named a Distinguished Citizen by the Connecticut Yankee Council — the local chapter of the Boy Scouts of America.
Consistent with his nature, he performed Thursday’s concert for free to an elated group, who clapped and sang along to every song.
Feliciano performed Christmas classics like Jingle Bells and Winter Wonderland, and his own smash hit Feliz Navidad.
Feliciano added interesting melodies and guitar picking styles that were faithful to the songs while simultaneously adding his own flair to each piece.
At the end of the set, Feliciano received a standing ovation and remained at the senior center to pose for pictures and talk with fans.
