Lamar Odom moved to new facility as part of 'miraculous recovery,' family says

(CNN)Lamar Odom is getting better and moving on -- though exactly where is a mystery.
His family said late Friday, "We announce his transition to the next stage of his miraculous recovery at a new facility."
Three months ago, employees at the Love Ranch brothel found Odom unresponsive and told 911 dispatchers that he'd used cocaine his first day there. Dennis Hof later denied any illicit drug use in the legal establishment he owns, claiming the former NBA player and ex of Khloe Kardashian had partied in Las Vegas just before getting there.
That statement did not specify what facility Odom was heading to or for what specific purpose. Instead, the family appealed for privacy and expressed appreciation for the positive thoughts and prayers that have been sent Odom's way.
"We THANK ALL OF YOU GREATLY, your support has been paramount in helping to uplift us during these past few difficult months," the family said
For the first few days after being whisked off in an ambulance, many worried if Odom would survive.
Still, he managed to celebrate his 36th birthday. And Kardashian -- who signed divorce papers with Odom last year, though that process hasn't been finalized -- told Extra in November that he was no longer connected to machines.
Even then, Kardashian acknowledged that Odom still has a long, tough road ahead to strengthen himself physically and mentally.
"He is alive on his own, ... which is great, but he still has a lot of physical and cognitive therapy to go through, so it's a long road for him," she said last fall.
"Every day is different. Some days he's really strong, and some days he's weaker than the day before 'cause it's mentally draining, I'm sure, on him."
