NFL playoffs: Seahawks, Vikings prep for a cold one; Steelers, Chiefs advance

The Kansas City Chiefs snapped a 22-year drought of playoff victories with Saturday’s rout of the Texans in Houston in the first round of the AFC playoffs. In the late game, the Pittsburgh Steelers outlasted the Cincinnati Bengals in what appeared to be a grunge match of sorts. That sends Kansas City to New England and Pittsburgh to Denver for the AFC divisional round.
For Sunday, the Washington Redskins will host the Green Bay Packers in the only opening-round game in which the home team is favored. Beforehand, however, surging Seattle will take on NFC North champion Minnesota in a game expected to feature temperatures hovering around zero.
The top-seeded Panthers, Broncos, Cardinals and Patriots are on a bye week
